OUR STORY - JADEN'S JOURNEY

I delivered Jaden, my son on the 23rd week of my pregnancy. He only weighed 1lb 4oz. The doctors didn't think he was going to make it. Every day I faced the fear of losing my son. I went through all of the emotions that most moms with babies in the NICU go through.
All the medical professionals spent most of the time preparing me for what Jaden wouldn't be able to accomplish. Instead of the possibilities of what he could accomplish.
Jaden spent the next first four months of his life in the hospital. We never gave up hope for Jaden. During this critical time, I was in endanger of losing my employment. I could see myself not being by his side the first four months of his life.
Jaden was later diagnosed at the age of nine with autism spectrum. No schools in the area could teach children with autism spectrum.
In learning of the challenges, stereotypes that face someone diagnosed with autism. We knew that Jaden’s opportunities would be limited. This was the motivation to start the Jaden’s Journey Foundation, to give hope to families of and family members diagnosed with autism.
